RE: A proposal to this community
Hi all, I am not a crypto specialist, a programmer or a trader. I think I represent the average person in the group of late adopters of cryptocurrency. Most of these people don’t look at the technical specifications etc. of a coin. They mainly look at the popularity / positive news about the coin and the market value. Just like iPod is not necessarily the best mp3-player, but it is the best marketed and most popular. So I agree that there should be a good marketing campaign. Otherwise I am afraid that we will be left behind by other newer coins. As I already said, I am in for the $10 per person campaign. Also I mentioned earlier, an article on Coindesk or Cryptocoinsnews, a fundraising campaign…

RE: Crowdfunded Awareness Campaign- the key to overtaking BTC?
This is a payment method with SMS with bristolpound (community currency). Is something like this technically possible with crypto? http://bristolpound.org/howtxt2pay

RE: Crowdfunded Awareness Campaign- the key to overtaking BTC?
Talking about Feathercoin awareness,
I saw this article on cryptocoinnews about Next http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/2014/01/17/whats-nxt-world-cryptocurrencies/
Article about Feathercoin would be great on cryptonews or coindesk with special attention for Link. -

RE: Colored coins

I’ve been in favor of zerocoin since it was brought up last summer as it would set us apart as a truly unique coin. I think a lot of people here would support its implementation into feathercoin but the problem is that zerocoin is difficult and none of the current developers (who work for free) can code it and we dont have money to hire someone who can. :(
Implementation of zerocoin will make payments anonymous. As this makes it more easy to move money around (as in money laundering), I wonder if zerocoin will help governments to adopt cryptocurrency. Or am I missing a point here?

French senate hearing on Bitcoin
http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1v9lh9/french_senate_hearing_about_bitcoin_is_live_now/
summarized and translated by mmitech on reddit:
"So I will try to summarize the conclusion, at least what I understood, before that I have to point out that the discussion was really productive and objective in a positive way, the senate and his board asked really good questions, and got really smart answers as well :it is not clear what they will do next or how to regulate bitcoin but they want to catch up and making it illegal is not an option.
it seems that adopting Bitcoin will be a competition between powerful countries as USA, Germany, UK and now France to follow.
they know that there is a real innovation behind bitcoin and France is already missing the train.
how Bitcoin will benefit users.the senate and his board doesn’t fully understand the decentralized and the distributed concept and he asked who owns the protocol ? and “no one” as an answer was not enough clear for him even though they tried to explain the protocol in a simple way.
the illicit use was brought up, which is something normal, but I didn’t have the feeling that they focused negatively on this.
volatility and investment risk also was brought up, but one of the board members said that it is due speculation, and said that speculation is good to a certain point…
Europe Bitcoin foundation will be born!
the general Idea I’ve got is that they know they cant keep ignoring Bitcoin, they have to jump in and adopt it, but they don’t know in which class bitcoin fits."

RE: Feathercoin price
Why I mentioned Coindesk / Cryptonews earlier regarding Link
I googled “Feathercoin Link project”
Found an forum article https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=398745.0. This starts with mentioning Link-project, ends quickly with comments about Feathercoin dying.
One short reddit comment http://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/1u47hy/project_from_the_feathercoin_community_finds_its/

RE: Feathercoin price
I think the negative talking at BTC-e about Feathercoin is harmful. The only way to deal with this is positive news about Feathercoin reaching many people. For example an article about Link or Coindesk of Cryptonews?

RE: Feathercoin price
Thanks Remonius for your post. I think it describes well the mixed feelings, confusion and fear (for example being delisted from BTC-e) looking at the price of Feathercoin at the moment (even below 0,0004) and all the sell walls.
But maybe the current price has to do with all the negative news and bank warnings lately regarding cryptocurrency in general and the uncertainty it brings with it. Even Litecoin seems kind of stuck now at one price level, although it is regarded as the silver of cryptocurrency.
Furthermore Feathercoin is still very young, I think not even a year old.
What I have read about the prices of earlier coins is, that they went through similar phases…so we have to keep faith and think long term. All the FTC bashing going on at BTC-e trollbox is not very helpful though.
I’m a noob in crypto also, so can’t come up now with more than this…

Colored coins
I’ve recently heard about colored coins being developed for bitcoin.
https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/5695/what-are-colored-coinsIs this also possible for Feathercoin?

RE: April 2014? Feathercoin Speculation
Hope it goed up again to 0.0012btc again (on BTC-e). Only thing, I’m wondering why FTC is going back to 0.00048 after recently going up to 60. These large sell orders, are they real? :o
