To me FTC got a limited supply same as BTC and most of the Crypto. This is good, it mean on the long run it’s something rare.

FTC is ASIC resistant, it means everyone can contribut even on CPU mining (what I did personally) so to me FTC is better on this point than BTC.
In fact I mine both currently, but to be able to mine BTC I had to invest some money (we are talking k€ here) and that it’s not everybody can do.

Last thing, FTC gonna reach his real value when is use gonna be democratised. And this is the most important, if no one use it, no matter the advantages or the hashrate, the market cap gonna land to 1 satoshi, as lot of crypto end.

So as a merchand, I’ll accept for this year comming FTC, gonna look very strange for most of people but to me it’s mean something. :)

I really like the philosophy of FTC, more than BTC actually, and I kind of dont care about the market, I care about the uses, this is the real matter to me at least.

We use a hot FTC address for sending the rewards.
Each week a random amount from 1 to 100 feathercoins is sent from stock FTC address to the hot FTC address.
We calculate the reward this way : hot FTC address balance / 100 = reward (with max reward = 1 ftc).

The website devlopment isn’t finish yet, but we hope to open end of the month.

About Coinmarketcap, I think they anyway focus on US/UE exchanges (but since zero fees is now forbidden in China maybe a change need to be made or have been done (I didn’t check recently).

About Gecko, I don’t know such thing.

Feel free to contact them, and expose the issue, Gecko is quite reactive.

As this is open source no need to be a dev or whatever to help. Go ahead and keep us updated of the avancement.

Actually FTC still use bitcoin.png or bitcoin.ico as file name for the icon.
If your OS cache it, maybe the issue come from there.

Maybe it’s time to remove from the code all the “bitcoin relics” left (By Litecoin first).
Not really hard to do, but could imply many aspect I surely don’t see right now.

We don’t find a lot of documentation about the feathercoin daemon, so here, what I’m into currently. :)

I have follow this guide to install feathercoind on a debian 8 server, so we are here headless using SSH session to manipulate.

First thing first : Launch feathercoind
When you try for the first time to launch it, a message appear saying you need to create a featercoin.conf file

USER@USER:/home/USER/Feathercoin/src# ./feathercoind
Error: To use the "-server" option, you must set a rpcpassword in the configuration file:
/USER/.feathercoin/feathercoin.conf
It is recommended you use the following random password:
rpcuser=SOME_USER
rpcpassword=SOME_PASSWORD
(you do not need to remember this password)
The username and password MUST NOT be the same.
If the file does not exist, create it with owner-readable-only file permissions.
It is also recommended to set alertnotify so you are notified of problems;
for example: alertnotify=echo %s | mail -s "Feathercoin Alert" [email protected]

So you do it :

# nano /USER/.feathercoin/feathercoin.conf

rpcuser=SOME_USER
rpcpassword=SOME_PASSWORD
// you can add the notification if you like

Now you are ready to launch it properly.

You can use some cloud tools like http://www.epochconverter.com/ to convert in human date

I just need to add this dependency : apt-get install -y pkg-config

On Windows I try a lot for 0.9.3.1 but didn’t get the feathercoin-qt.exe compiled.

I have to use boost 1.57.0 (avoiding some errors).

And I finaly get it working with the last 0.3.9.2 version of Feathercoin.
