Hi guys I’m back sorry I’ve been away for so long. Been having a crypto sabbatical with the arrival of the little one. Or at least I was.

This new forum looks great guys its no mean feat pulling off a move like this and its all pretty seamless well done.

Also looks like Peter is back which is the best news I’ve heard in a long time :)

Anyway I’ve been starting to cut my crypto dev teeth. I’ve just been paid to port over the peercoinj library to fuelcoinj and the peercoin android wallet to fuelcoin too. Completed it a couple of days ago so its in the android store now under fuel pay. Although no mention on me of course. Anyway I’m not pushing fuelcoin here I just wanted to say I have learnt a crapload doing that work and maybe I can actually be of some use around here now.

Staking in Feathercoin??

You could be right but I believe at this point an investor would weigh a secure investment vs higher returns feathercoin is only about 6 months old and very quickly gained its position in the top 5 coins if not the top 3 (opinions may differ) I just feel feathercoin has more room to grow and even after the spike in price is still undervalued.

Just my 2 feathers I’m no expert.

I’m greedy cos I thought you saying the FTC blockchain was dead was sad.

I have no words.

I like the idea of rewarding full nodes being online and I also like the idea of rewarding good work that is done by people in our community. Development, coordination, innovation, communication with the outside world etc etc.

9 months ago so august last year that’s pretty much when I started mining Feathercoin and I’m pretty sure the value then was about 2-4p per coin. So even with the recent drops that’s still between a 100% - 400% increase in 9 months.

I’m not sure what price you thought FTC were worth back then?

I’m glad it has a reputation as a safe bet but as hopestillflies has said its best to ignore the trollbox.

Just been digging around with the Feathercoin android wallet and uncovered what looks like a major fork between the 8.6.2 version and 8.7

Peers on 8.6.2 are at block 436140
Peers on 8.7 are at block 436475

Is this due to lots of people who have not upgraded yet? Should ACP not stop this?

I can only see a couple of things that could have happened here.

1.) The multipool did not update their wallet which is why there would be so many coins to send as it would have only been them on that fork of the blockchain.

2.) You have put your Feathercoin address into the a different coins output address on the multipool.

Either way its worth raising with the multipool themselves. And ask for the details of the tx where the coins were sent.

I don’t think the coins were ever sent on the real Feathercoin network.

Can I ask where you saw the details of the transactions that you are posting here.

I think the problem is that people are embedding hidden miners inside other software which are then malicious.

Chrome was advising me it was a malicious file too which is simply untrue.

I agree having your funds on the go is fundamental to being able to use Feathercoin as a currency.

Yes we did make some changes which we thought would be enough but due to the stalling issue we are working on a fix. I’ve made some progress today on a Java wrapper around the c NeoScrypt implementation. Hopefully we will have the fix in place soon.

Sorry for the problems. May I suggest you try and use a desktop wallet until the fix is in place.

I just signed up for cryptonit and they accept PayPal for deposit and withdrawal. Fees are not great but I think that’s more PayPal than cryptonit. Its based in england so it looks like they have the legislation wrapped up tight. PayPal would make it much easier to convert from these silly old Pounds Sterling into FTC and back if needs be? :)

Hi all I’m trying to create a Java implementation of NeoScrypt that can be used in the android wallet or anything with a dependency on feathercoinj.

I’ve found the lamdaworks java implementation of SCrypt which I was hoping would be a good starting point and I’m using .c NeoScrypt and Scrypt to try and figure out what is actually being done.

Looks like there are at least four jobs to do.

1. convert salsa20/8 to salsa20/20 (or with param)
2. add chacha20 method
3. create FastKDF class
4. wrap it all up in the hash method.

I’ve made a small amount of progress getting this far and think I may have figured out the salsa20/20 thing but I could really use some help with test data.

I’ll flesh out my question a little better later this is just a placeholder or now. :)
