I like your work, and your “pricing” is really humble :) Please update this thread regularly, so I don’t forget about it. I’m pretty sure I’ll support you at some point ;)

Thank you, I will! That’s very kind of you to say! :)
Thought I would give you your first rep for your enterprise

Oh, thanks! I wasn’t even aware of the rep system til now, heh. Again, shows how new I am! -
Sketches for Tips? n\_n
Hey all!
I’m very new to crypto-currencies in general, but I really like the concept and have even done a bit of mining with some limited success. Now I’m looking for opportunities to earn coins through other venues.
I’m an amateur artist and aspiring webcomic creator. I enjoy drawing fantasy creatures, especially dragons and anthropomorphic animals. I’m working on a webcomic that is set to launch this May! (The comic’s name is Aww, Feathers! which is actually one reason I decided to try feathercoin when I heard of it, haha!) I do practice sketches every day and thought it would be fun to let others decide what I should sketch in exchange for a small tip.

If you’re interested, leave a reply, send me a PM, or email me at .(Wasn’t sure whether this would be a “good” or a “service.” Suggestions?)
Thanks!

RE: My First Feathercoin!
Thanks all for the kind words and encouragement! :)
I plan to try offering some stuff on on the marketplace soon. I’ve been making an etsy shop lately; maybe I should post on my shop that I also accept FTC and see if that generates any interest. That would be nice, because while etsy is a pretty cool site, their fees for handling payments are pretty steep for smaller, less expensive items. -
My First Feathercoin!
I’ve been mining for about four days; I had my laptop and my wife’s (kinda old) desktop cpu mining non-stop that whole time, and I finally have one whole feathercoin to my name for our efforts! (I couldn’t get gpu mining to work; I don’t think we have good enough gpu’s.)
So, we’re pretty much rich now, right? Anyone have any ideas on how I should spend my whopping 1 feathercoin? ;D
It was kind of a fun and interesting experiment. I may keep going for a while longer (until I have *gasp* TWO FEATHERCOINS!!) or maybe I’ll just run it in the background whenever I’m on my computer instead of keeping it going overnight, to save on electricity.
Now we just need for FTC to suddenly jump up to $900 per coin like Bitcoin did, amiright? ;)

RE: Questions about receiving payments for goods
And thank you both for the useful info! :D I was thinking I’d just have a few main addresses, but I guess it makes sense to have a different address for each customer.
Thanks again! -
Questions about receiving payments for goods
Hey all! I just started mining feathercoin earlier this week! I’m very new to crypto-currencies in general, so I was wondering a couple things about how to receive payments for sold goods/services. Specifically:
(1) How do you know who sent which payment? Say three customers want to buy something from me online, but only two send their payments. Since no names are attached to the transactions, how can I tell who has paid already and who hasn’t?
(2) Can you accept payments in person? Say I’m holding a garage sale and I tell people I accept feathercoin. Once they send a payment, it won’t show up until the next block is mined, and even then I’d typically want to wait for 6 or so confirms. Does that happen pretty quickly? Is the standard practice to make the buyer wait until the payment has been confirmed before handing over the goods, or do I just trust them and accept the risk of some individuals being untrustworthy? Thanks! :)

Finally realized that guiminer uses gpu and I was trying to do cpu mining. I managed to get cpuminer up and running. Yay! Thanks anyway. :-)

Guiminer will not start (solved, kinda)
I’ve been trying to get things up and running on my machine for several days now, but no luck. My latest attempt was with guiminer. I’ve been following this tutorial: http://cryptojunky.com/blog/2013/03/12/absolute-beginners-guide-to-litecoin-mining/ (it’s about Litecoin, but I’m told you can also mine feathercoin following the same steps). I successfully downloaded guiminer, but when I try to open guiminer.exe I get this error message:

The logs contains the following:
ERROR:root:Exception:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File “guiminer.py”, line 2845, in run
File “guiminer.py”, line 2222, in __init__
File “wx\_core.pyo”, line 11206, in Enable

Sadly, I cannot even begin to fathom what this means. Does anyone have an idea? I don’t have an AMD gpu like the tutorial assumes you have, but I was going to try cpu mining first anyway (yes, I know gpu is better). Would the wrong gpu be causing it to not even open?I’m aware that there is also cgminer, but I’ve tried and failed to get that running as well (see my other thread if you think you can help). I don’t have any feathercoins at the moment, but I’d be happy to tip anyone who can help me resolve the issues I’ve been having once I do have some.
Thanks!
