Just passing it along:

It’s a false positive. You’re not alone, Fedoracoin 1.0.exe got hit with it, too. Apparently someone got overzealous and submitted a shared bit of code across all these reporting sites. I ended up having to discuss with DigitalOcean about it in order to not have my hosting account suspended because they contacted them instead of me in order to take the site down.
Just, scummy.
Currently the market cap of FTC is 667 BTC And I expect if it go below 100 BTC This coin will be de-list in Cryptsy. And then Game over.
Don’t know will this happen.
It won’t de-list, it’ll get coupled against Litecoin and Ripple, like Fedoracoin and Mooncoin were.
Fedoracoin, for example, right now, is at 103 BTC marketcap, and there’s no talk of doing anything to it.
No one wants that, but it’s not the end of the world, either.
I don’t think they even implemented what they said they would yet and it’s been, what, 5 months?
Litecoin did put Doge on a leash, though. Embarrassing.
And the other is Gridcoin, changed total number of coins 10x up, but old coins had to be burned (exchanged for new).
Gridcoin seems ok.
They’re still in the process of that conversion, final deadline is April 20th.
no, hop in
alright, whoever’s admin shoot me an invite. hopestillfliesx360a[at]gmail
Hi Hope, can you join us on Slack please?
Did you recieved invite link?
Aren’t spots on someone’s slack limited to 10 or so?
I don’t want to take the seat of someone more focused and healthy for the coin.
Nonsense, Fedoracoin is still holding firm at 0.00000008… Litoshi.
Seriously, the coin you’re bound to for trading can be murder.
According to the subreddit where bot people come together, reddit gold is no longer necessary for username calls. Was that the bigger barrier from keeping it up, or?
Ok guys, I have been trying to set up this coin marketplace where you can pay with cc and paypal, just finished and have not even made first sell, but should work fine… https://buycrypto.sharetribe.com/en/listings/66340-1-dot-000-ftc
People should also be able to sell their coins for paypal money…
Wanted to hear your thoughts, the idea behind it is to get common people to buy crypto, exchanges are complicated.
On the downside, we have the fees, like 5% , so prices would have to be higher.
Afraid not, it’s reverting right to the main sign up page.
I don’t know what protections they provide, but be super weary on selling crypto where you get paid with credit card. Ripe with fraud.
So even abandoned coins are unhappy. Do we need to fork yet another coin for this?
nah.
In order to stop it they need to do this:
http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.bitcoin.devel/1996
In order to do that they need a developer, willing to do it, to institute necessary changes and then propagate from there. Last one they had that did, I believe, the anonymizing feature where it mixes from the wallet, was promised community funds and then bilked. So fat chance someone taking another shot at that. Then there’s getting the community on board… and the people with the still prominent pools for it, as few as there are still mining, look at this as a sort of “hail mary”, “at least it can be used for something”.
After all, since companies like coinpayments.net didn’t opt to add it to their list of coins, stuff like “Pay w/Fedoracoin” popped up to fill the gap, but no one used it so they left the game entirely. So if you have a crypto, that’s not intended for commerce solutions, can’t hold it’s value, what good is it? What utility can be brought to it?
omg the whining

Clearly, your plans for this blockchain run contrary to the plans we have for the same. But since all we have is experimental software, you could do this your way, or let the community have its say. As for us, we are totally against the “pirating” of fedoracoin.
Apparently the IRC Fedoracoin community is different than the Bitcointalk Fedoracoin community.
But I’ll just let 'em “the royal we” all over the place, doesn’t matter that this is reality now. I knew this stuff would happen, though, /r/Dogecoin was no different one year ago when we were like “check out this awesome thing that can be done!”
I best get a fedoracoin wallet then :)
Someone let fedoraco.in lapse, too, so I just took it over.
Rehosting wallets by the end of tonight.
Appreciated, thank you.
Apparently I’ve taken over the fedoraco.in and chainexplorer.info domains, too, so I’ll working on getting that whole thing usable.
Not much can be done with mercbay if there’s no wallets filled with coins to use it on.
I tried with Fedoracoin addresses, the balance wasn’t grabbing and the “completed” wasn’t resetting and I couldn’t trace down inside of where it was culling the blockchain address data in the goalItem.html template (but naturally was able to change the actual goals and addresses inside of the controller config, as you saw).
My presumption is that it would work with yet another deletion of the LinkDB-Fedoracoin directory and allowing it to rebuild but at this point I’m all like:
When I do the next feature add (looking towards a tag cloud for an easy first step) while bringing the server down, I’ll readd the table and empty that directory and see it it works.
No, I got kicked out of the coffee shop I was in before I could finish editing the page.
All that stuff is going to have to get trimmed and reset since none of the code has any of those things implemented in it and I’ll have to start on it myself.
please don’t use Feathercoin for this
okay
I got it to work on Fedoracoin. That’s how it’s working right now.
If there’s interest in the feathercoin implementation in the future, let me know, I still have a disk image with all the work saved. Give me a suggestion for a domain name, too, though, since I don’t have anything ftc related.
Considering who he works with, it doesn’t surprise me.
And he is still very much about. Not in the cryptosphere but he’s still contactable.
Eh, yeah, he just stopped responding to my email back in August, had virtually zero Twitter activity and minimal github contribs so I just figured he was on an extended sabbatical.
The local database that the app builds for indexing the searches is super grouchy when stuff happens around it (I think I ran into an issue after shutting down to clone/backup my work), so I’m having to reindex and then will rerun the app again so that it can build up that information.
At least Feathercoin still has strong full node support; Fedoracoin’s status log for building the index is looking really, really pathetic. So much so that if a small corporation wanted to set their minds to 51%ing it, it might happen, rendering the point of building stuff for it moot. It’s going to need this shot in the arm.
