Just a guess but say someone (A) with £100K, he buys buys buys, from 4pa coin to 8p, hoping for other people to join in who (B) even realise it’s p d, they try to make quick profit and buy at 8p. Price goes up to 10p. (A) sells all at 10p, makes a profit on each coin ranging from 2p to 6p in each coin. B who bought at 8p bought something that was worth 4p. of course. it’s easier for me to write whatever I think could have happened, will be miles away from the truth though.

But as feathercoin real worth is not affected in the price, it could all be genuine and some funds/companies etc might just be stocking up for long term.

Does seem odd how it jumped so quick… i guess as you say there could be a million different reasons as to why it’s jumped up… lets hope it means something is thinking of using it for there project :)

Don’t underestimate the hashrate thrown in by the multipools. They switch on and off, creating peaks in hashrate.

Was a fairly consistent 1.2-5gh until this madness! Gone from 20-30 coins a day depending what i had mining to around 10 with both cards at max :(

Right now it’s opening the command line and it runs a few lines and then goes blank. Not sure if I should be giving it more time or if it’s crapping out because I’m pushing the settings too much??

If it’s not working would it crash the computer, i.e. blue screen of death?

So far all looks good… only thing i look at is the gpu engine and mem clock… i found when i did this it created drama and stopped things from working!!!

Also at this early stage i would recommend the change to ccminer… i have found it to give a better kh/s than NSG… don’t know why!!! (anyone help with that?)

For reference… i used to mine with a gtx780 using NSG. the following is my launch.bat file text

setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

Could change the -W - I setting to something a little lower (see url below) and see if it runs, if it does then its your config file :)

For the right -W and -I setting for your card, have a look on here for your gpu and then add it into your file.

I’m a noob too, but i spent 4 days sorting/syncing the wallet (i would start there because of Give me coins-will need wallet address for settings) and at least a day sorting the miner out so all i can do is post what i found and how i did it! If it saves you the days of drama i had its got to be a win! I’m sure if i am wrong or there is a better way someone will jump and say something!

EDIT: everyone is friendly here… forums are fairly active and there is some REALLY knowledgeable members in here… if you get stuck with the GMC pool, ask here or the pool slack chat system is really good… guy “khaos” in there is awesome… any drama and its sorted quickly with no fuss… he’s answered my stupid/noob questions and helped me!

Wish i hadn’t cashed out 250 coins at 850 just a week ago! Part of trading i suppose… i am not mining to make money, that’s just a bonus towards costs!

I took a screenshot of what I’m seeing

Left side is NSGMiner - I can see the .exe files there - however i can’t see the same on the right. All the files on the right require a default program to open with.

Just a heads up - will update the top posts on this thread tonight - gotta switch priorities for a few hours.

This kind of movement looks like a pump, nothing more. FTC has many whales that pump the coin whenever the hell they like.

having said this, most of the big markets are reporting green atm.

Concept being just mine as much as possible and then sell it all quick? Seems to be many types of pump and dump! (google)

then select card, 0 in this case… press 0 then enter.

click any key

Shows slot 0 as off and slot 1 as running :)

Hi all,

Can only post here for now so its a noob topic!

I have installed another GPU into my ws that i use to mine… however i wish to use 1 of the 2 cards in it to mine with and not the other… how do i go about setting NSGminer to allow me to use one of the two cards?

I currently use cpuminer, to be honest its not worth it from a points to cost ratio…

Keeps the office warm… that’s about the only plus point i can see! if you would like a copy of my current config file i can post it up?

i have a thread on this… can be found below… however the following should help.

@wrapper could you share the file with this good sir please :)

Wrapper will give you a link to a file, download and add said file to the folder where everything for your wallet is kept.

For me this is:

C:\Users\Gooders\AppData\Roaming\Feathercoin

Contains:
wallet.bat
debug.txt
peers.dat
.lock

Add said file here and then reopen the wallet… close wallet every hour ish, reopen… repeat for x days and then it will sync. mine took around 4 days.

Good news, is that the legends that are, the admin/mods are working hard to sort this issue in the next release.

Any recommends on which CCminer to use? There is 100’s of them and i can not find a youtube video to the ones i seem to be downloading… most of the links on youtube are to lists of files that i have no idea how to setup/use.

So you guys would advise using CCminer for an Nvidia card over them both? If that’s the case i will try setup and try CCminer this evening
