RE: What do you think is the current version of Feathercoin?
I installed the official wallet from the official website today. Not a clue what version it is before installing (the website nor file name give a clue). After install, it turns out to be 6.4.4 but now I am reading about a 6.4.4. MOD version again. What gives?

RE: Ideas for a better feathercoin user experience
A mobile wallet for FTC alla Mycelium/Bitcoinspinner would be great. The current Android wallet sucks the life out of your mobile connection and is erratic in updating.
Mobile payments are the future. Exactly the right fit for a coin without the weight.

Glad that FTC is making way. I would really love a mobile ‘light’ FTC client like Bitcoinspinner/Mycelium because I think mobile payments will be a major wheelbarrow for cryptos.

New exchanges are an excellent opportunity to throw in a low ball buy order and await any glitches :o 8)

The big chunks of FTC will disperse over multiple owners in time. There’s nothing to do in this respect but just waiting and let the free market run.

RE: I just bought about 26k of FTC -- I understand the value of this community
Just let them sell. If you are part of FTC, you will look at months, not days in terms of price. Invest slowly over time, so that extreme price swings don’t affect you that much.
Look at it realistically: there are 6 million FTC already while the coin is still in its infancy, suffering from the backlash of a Hashing power spike and experiencing attacks on the protocol. Of course the weak hands want to get rid of it, on to the next daily_coin_rush.
If you are one of them, sell or hold according to your short term view. If you are in this game for the long term, you can scoop up cheap coins the next few months 8)
The biggest problem I possibly see is getting kicked off BTC-E and Vircurex, but let’s cross that bridge if we ever get there.

Making a call for legal charity work. Develop a form of mortgage deed and legal opinion.

Automatic FTC purchase scheduled for 1st of the month. It’s the community you’re buying, indeed.

RE: Remove your sell orders on BTCe
FTC should be able to withstand free market forces. As a matter of fact , those sell orders don’t mean anything. FTC could be worthless in $$ terms and still perform as they should: making transactions.
Don’t confuse the price of FTC with your own price expectations.

RE: \[ANN\] Feathercoin Android App
On my phone, the update to the servers stalls and never fully updates. I had the same problem with the similar app for Bitcoin a year back and, with some geek stuff, got my stuck BTC out. So I am very cautious with this wallet.

RE: \[Superseded by 0.6.4.4\] Feathercoin 0.6.4 - Hard Fork at block 33,000
I understand that there is a circuit breaker: the difficulty wont change more than 41% in each instance. In a worst case scenario, everybody jumps on FTC and difficulty rises sky high in several steps. Afterwards, there won’t be 2016 blocks to mine away with 2 Radeon’s and a lost ASIC until difficulty goes to a more realistic level, but 5xx (again, with the 41% damper each time).
In the end, it should result in less trouble in case of sudden, massive mining power. I hope the difficulty reset rate is sufficient not to run into trouble with too many orphaned blockchains. It seems that a couple of hundred blocks should be okay in this respect. We will find out sooner or later.
