@aciddude Looking at the local bitcoins forum it would seem that the biggest problem is getting a bank that will accept the incoming payments for the coins. From reading the posts there it would appear that many of them have had accounts frozen as a result.

As has been mentioned on this forum, it would be ideal if there was a company that provided FTC/GBP pair. Hopefully in the future this will happen as it without it there seems no easy solution.

@aciddude Thanks for the reply. Bittylicious was my first choice as this seemed to be the most straightforward however they currently don’t have any buyers who would want a ‘one off’ purchase. I could register as a broker however I don’t have the time to sit around all day waiting for the individual ‘small’ buys.

Would someone be able to provide details on how I can do this on a PC. I would need it step by step and in detail if possible as my technical abilities are somewhere close to zero!!!

@Frozenace Just out of interests what do you consider to be the easiest was to convert FTC to GBP at the moment. This is something that I will be looking to do in the future (depending on the price).

I currently store my coins in my wallet on my PC. Its encrypted and backed up. I have heard much talk about a paper wallet however I have no idea how to get/create one. Could someone advise me on how this is done or point me in the direction where I can get this information?

Being someone who has no technical knowledge could you confirm which link I need to click on once I have selected the windows download link. I am currently running V0.9.6.1 on windows 64bit.

I have today completed an update for windows 8.1 (KB3000850) and since the update my link to my wallet does not work.

I get an error message saying that the shortcut refers to an item that has been moved or changed.

I have my wallet .dat file backed up.

Should I download the wallet again or is it possible to locate the file myself on my system in order to create a new shortcut.

I have looked in the location where the wallet was located “C:\Program Files (x86)\Feathercoin\feathercoin-qt.exe” but it is no longer there. I am assuming that the windows update has deleted it as I cannot find it anywhere on my system.

Okay I have solved the download issue. It was due to Avast Anti Virus blocking it, I disabled it and it worked.

All my coins are back :)

The culprit was actually the anti virus software and not the windows update.

Okay I have just done that and my wallet.dat is still there. As a result of this I have tried to download the wallet from the website and I get an ‘Failed- Download error’ message. This is only occurring since the most recent windows 8.1 update which I downloaded. As a result I believe that this must be the culprit.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have the backup. Are there any instructions on how/where to copy the wallet.dat file to once I have downloaded it again?
