.10 here. my brothers and me fix to build a 45000 k/hash farm to add to are 15000 k/hash. so i hope it goes up. we at least going to have allot of fun!!! If it all crashes we can host gaming conventions and have a ebay store lol. was thinking it would be cool to build a farm in a pool full of oil then we can go scuba diving to fix the rigs maybe Evan add some nice lights!!!

Any voltage unlocked r9 270?
any one know of any voltage unlocked r9 270. I have msi, his, and asus they are all locked.

RE: Asus r9 270 running hot!!
i got 18 of them. they are all on different boards. i just swapped the ASUS cards around to see if it was a different rig that was causing them to heat up. yea they are all getting the same hash rate. the msi are getting 470. i dropped the settings on the ASUS to make them run cooler so the are running around 420. i have some sapphire 7870s that run cool. i thought about trying that heat sink on the Asus. It looks like they line up. This would let me know if the heat sink on the asus is the problem.
thanks for replying

Asus r9 270 running hot!!
So here is my situation. I have msi, His and asus r9 270. The his and msi cards run at around 50 to 60 Celsius. The his cards are even in my case. the msi and asus are on powered risers. the asus cards are running in the high 70s to mid 80s. I saw it hit 86 before i cut my ac on and that is even with a fan blowing on the back of the cards. The same config file for the his and asus cards in my computer with my case. His cards 60 and asus cards 79. Either these cards display the wrong temps or they are to hot. does anyone know what the max temps are that a r9 270 can run at? i read somewhere that amd claims ther cards are capable of handling up to 120. my brother and me where thinking of just letting them run on the mid 80s. if they pop just rma them. they are also voltage locked. My new server rack will be here soon and I plan on putting it in front of a ac window unit so hopefully that will help some but where i live the summers are real hot.

they are the r9 270. we have asus, his and msi. the msi seems to be the more stable of the bunch. the are defiantly worth it considering you get 940 kh/s for $360 and can run them on a smaller power supply. they seem to be the best bang fot your buck on kh/s and power consumption. they also only have 1 6pin. just checked with meter they are actually around 140 and thats overclocked to
Amazing! I never considered the 270s before. I had no idea they were so efficient. I noticed that your pictures have 3 cards per rig. Since they dont use much power, why not put 5 or 6? Is the rig more stable with 3? Also, would you mind posting which MB you are using? I have been using the msi z77a-g45 and am looking to switch to something else for any future builds.
well we are using 750 watt power supply’s. my brother got a really good deal on them. we could run 4 on them it would be like 650 or so watts. we plan on adding more cards to them probably some r7 260x to fill the slot. we use allot of different motherboards. msi, evga, some intel boards. we had allot of boards laying around so we just pieced it together with what we had and then bought some new boards.

RE: Rig stats and pics
thats 2 cards together. it will be less once i start to under volt them some
-
RE: Rig stats and pics
playing with some of my r9 270 got them stable at 470KH/S @ 57 C. That is 940 for 2 cards. power consumption around 300 for a price $360 yea eat your heart out 290ss.
so had a few monster heat sinks laying around. they got put on mineing detail. the oher pic is what the temp is in our mining room

RE: \[Solved\] How do you monitor/adjust more than one rig Win7 \* Teamviewer
lookup cgremote. its probably the screen shot of what you see

RE: Rig stats and pics
my brothers and me got into mining currently we got 18 r9 270s and 5 r9 280x and a few other cards on are gameing rigs
here is some pics of are room we built with a ac added and 20 amp breakers. we have another rack like that going up at my house. still waiting on riser cables to hook some cards up. we will be somewhere around 13,000 kh/s with plans of hitting 25,000 with in a few months.

RE: Anyone try this card for scrypt?
i been looking at these for awhile for some old boards with 1 1x slot i have laying around. they where $60
-
RE: Open Source Scrypt ASIC Miner
that project is a rent a k/hash. its .90 per a k/hash. not worth it unless you have expensive power.
-
RE: Where are you buying your video cards?
man the prices of cards is getting ridiculous. Evan the cheaper cards have shot way up and are selling out.
-
RE: Thermal Grease, its your friend
i another trick to is you can lap the heat sink. some heat sinks are poorly machined are not completely flat. i use to be into overclocking and lapping a heat sink and good thermal compound always drooped the temps

RE: Should I quit or keep on fighting?
my rigs actually are serving as my heater in my apartment lol

Also keep in mind, you could always sacrifice some kh/s for undervolting + downclocking + lower noise + lower power consumption.example: R9 280x’s may run @ ~1.07v 1000mhz/1250mhz with -g 2 -I 13 hashing @ about 680-690kh/s
fanspeed @ 50% temps @ 65-70°C (ambient 20°C);)
yes undervolting will drop temps alot

RE: New here - Want to build a rig!
i have that card its great for mining. buy as many as you can afford to invest in. i recommend 3 to a machine. you can go for 4 but those cards stock use around 300 watts. so a pretty big power supply is needed for 4. unless you under volt the cards

RE: Wife thinks I'm crazy
And i thought i was crazy for getting ready to drop $3000. I am not married but my dog thinks im crazy!! oh and my girlfriend thinks its cool but she does not live with me. if she did she probably would.
