RE: Can't start mining...?
Hey there,
Nvidia I would always recommend CCminer, here is the best version:
https://github.com/KlausT/ccminer/releasesNow you need to setup a .conf File in your %appdata%/Feathercoin Folder, which needs to contain following lines
server=1
rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=password
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
daemon=1
port=9336
rpcport=9337Save that as “all files” and name it feathercoin.conf
Restart your wallet after you did that.
Now we need to configure your miner, for Solomining you have to point it to your localclient:Create a .bat next to your miner.exe
Put this inside:
ccminer.exe -a neoscrypt -o 127.0.0.1:9337 -u username -p password
Doubleclick the .bat and it should fire up the mining and mine towards your local client

Quick question for everyone also for @AcidD
On the Feathercoin.com site when downloading the new wallet. The site says Version 0.13.0.0 then when i download the Windows version it says Version 0.13.1.0.
Which one is the right version to download?either 0.13.0.0 or 0.13.1.0 both are fine.
It was just a label issue, the links already pointed to 0.13.1.0 wallets. I changed the label.

Did you backup your private keys?
Did you try to unlock via console?
-> walletpassphrase PASSWORD 9999

RE: Must you be mining when a block is found to have your shares included?
@wellenreiter said in Must you be mining when a block is found to have your shares included?:
As you stated correctly, that is depending on the pool.
Basically you are payed based on the percentage of hashes you provided to find the current block.
This is called PPS (pay per share) Most pools have slightly different schemes, for example to honor long term miners.
An example is PPLNS (Pay per last N shares)
Give- Me-coins is using that schema: http://give-me-coins.com/support/faq/what-is-pplns/There are a few other payout schema.
You need to check the payout schema for your pool on the pools web page.
If you are using a p2pool, the payout is based on the shares you provided compared to the overall number shares needed to find the block, and that you have mined in the last xxx minutes before the block has been found., basically your minier/your wallet address must still be in the list of connected miners on the pools web page.I have to correct you here. - PPS is pay-per-share, so the pool pays you for your shares directly, there is an average how many shares are needed for each block~ even if the pool doesnt find a block, the miners will be paid, so its a risk schema for the pool to run this mode, thats why most dont do it. What you meant is PROP, thats what most pools are running, you get an proportional share towards your contribution to the block. PPLNS is as you stated for the last N shares submitted to the block.
So to come back to the question, you wont lose any shares that you have contributed if you mine in a pool that finds frequently blocks.
