Obviously keccak won the competition but only due to its innovative approach and not necessarily because of an increased level of security or performance.

Thanks for providing more information. I don’t know much about hashing algos, or Groestl, but I do know it’s a new efficient algo for GPU mining (having mined Groestlcoin on my GTX 750 Tis).

Has the Groestl algo been considered?

The website looks and feels great. If I have to critique it, I’d say it looks a bit “technical”. I was hoping it would be targeted more at the average person on the street who wants to get involved in crypto. I don’t feel that. Also, if I put myself in the shoes of a newbie, I’d want to know where the wallet is - I know it says “Download feathercoin”, but what does this mean to the average person? I know it’s a tiny change, but I’d add the word ‘wallet’ so it says “Download feathercoin wallet”. Other than that, I think with an alternative hero banner on the homepage, I think it looks ace! Well done to all involved!

Cheers. :) I left it running overnight, and now it’s synchronising with the network. There’s all this FUD about online wallets, and when you go to use the proper “offline” wallet, they don’t work quite as well as they should from a UX pov (at least that’s how it feels to non-technical users).

Update: Wallet has now fully synced, and I am impressed, it’s lightning fast! :)

Is the Mac version working? I’m getting a ‘no block source available’ message? Seems strange since my Litecoin and Bitcoin clients work fine. Any ideas, anyone? Thank you…
