@AmDD and the node is down again, sorry bud
I found a free service that emails me when the site goes down… I got this notification before I got theirs… lol
I reset it again, I’ll try to drill down and see whats causing it. I hope you have backup pools setup. :/ Sorry for the issues.

I set one up this morning, I thought I had one already set but I had lost it when I want from ftctheblocksfactory mining to p2pool mining, oops. Don’t worry about it :) however, you have by far the fastest p2pool server for me so when you go down I am not nearly as efficient.

6 People and 10MH/s on this node. If you are in the USA come join us!

Looks like you went offline.
Ive got my cards running near 400khs now which puts me at just over 2MHs. Once I get more power in that room I can fire up the rest of my cards and I should be about 3.4MHs. Maybe this week… -

Gents, I suggest to configure 2 different p2pool nodes in your miners, e.g. The one from ripperdragon and my one, one acting as primary, the other as secondary.
That way you won’t loose payouts if one pool node goes down, as the shares you mine on one node are counted on the other one, if your miner switches nodes.

So I went to update my pool to 0.9.3.1 and it blew up. Doesnt seem to be related to the update - i lost networking on the node. Contacted tech support and they were unable to help so I had to reinstall.
Ive followed @Wellenreiter 's guide and with this version of feathercoind (0.9.3.1) running the command ‘feathercoind’ i never get returned to the # prompt. This never happened before with other versions. I can close the console and it seems to keep running. Just pointing it out.
The P2Pool node will be back once feathercoind syncs.

Be sure to have the daemon=1 in your config file, or supplied the parameter -daemon when starting fathercoind.

Hi folks! @AmDD, hope you’re able to keep your pool running, I’m pointing 1.8MH at you and plan to keep it that way from here out for a while. :) Switched from coinotron; I always liked and used p2pools in the past (x11 mostly), but seems the ftc p2pools are quite dry these days. (Everyone mining ethereum? I’m done with that… :)) And thanks for keeping the fee low, .5% is great.
So, does anyone know who runs the other US pool in the current list, 65.101.238.110? It doesn’t have any hash on it at all right now. I’d like to set it as a failover, just in case, though p2pool.neoscrypt.de might be ok (I’m on the east coast).

@bluebox I should be able to keep it running for awhile. I have considered either a lerger fee or smaller (ie. zero) just because the dust payments from a .5% fee are a pain to deal with.
Happy hashing!

@AmDD coinotron is charging 1.5%pplns, so if you doubled yours to 1% I wouldn’t mind a bit. Rather you (and anyone else) charge what it’s worth to keep things going! Just need more miners on the p2pool node(s)… Quite happy getting what looks like 20%+ more ftc than from coino’s pool — this kind of efficiency is the reason I like p2pools!
-
This is weird in a good way: after just 3 payouts (12 hours), I’m averaging just over 2X what I mined from coinotron in the same time, or 290 FTC/day vs. 138. I know, I know, going to wait for a few days before “confirming”. Even so, at the current sell-off price of .000062 this would be generating $10/day, $2 better than Ethereum @ $9.75/eth hashing on the same cards… goodness me.
Difficulty has averaged about the same throughout the last two weeks, bouncing between 12 and 25. I’ve never seen this kind of difference between pools anywhere before. Could be because I’m 95% of the public p2pool hash, or 38% of “global speed” according to your piechart?.. Either way this is crazy. Crazy good. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

At current usage the operation of a p2pool node never get’s financed with the pools fees. It’s all good will and investment for a hobby of the operators.

@AmDD I should have some time tonight to point some miners back at this node. Let me know if you are ever debating shutting this node down, I dont mind helping keep a good east coast node up.
Also it appears the miner stats page isnt working.
-
@RIPPEDDRAGON I doubt I’l shut it down but if I happen to I’ll post here first.
I’ll check the stats page, things got messed up awhile back and maybe that page slipped through the cracks. -
My enthusiasm has been tempered a bit on the p2pool. Payouts in the first 30 hours: 60-70ftc every 5-6hrs. Precipitous decline all of a sudden late Monday night to 35ftc per 14+hrs. No change in pool/global hashrates or diff… weird.
cgminerccminer-djm on one system, normally rock solid, crapped out for unknown reasons late today, guess it didn’t like the returns either :smirk: so I took the other system offline for much-needed updates.@RIPPEDDRAGON I’ll throw mine back on tomorrow if you do, see if having more on one node helps.
-
Looks like we have not found a block in a while and all the blocks found were orphans :(
-
Looks like other p2pools are returning a large number of orphans as well. Thoughts, @Wellenreiter ?
-
@AmDD Just when I went to check things, saw your site go down for about 10 minutes. One of two miners crapped out, probably ccminer again (it doesn’t like losing stratum connections no matter what I do).
The ftc p2pool is like solo mining these days. I’m 90+% of the total hash on the node, 80% of the five public list nodes. Don’t know what the average timespan between finding blocks would normally be for ftc, but so far averaging less than coinotron, give-me-coins, etc. Overall hash rate just needs to be higher on the p2pools, at a minimum level, whatever that is…
started mining again on 5/4/16 23:04

@bluebox I am actually. I made some changes and the webserver quit. P2pool was running but I had no web. Couldnt get it running so I rebooted the whole server. We’ll see if that makes any difference in orphans. The active miners page is still dead at the moment tho.
