Idea: Random Acts of Pizza brought to you by FTC
-
Partially inspired by the Prostate Cancer Raffle initiative, I recently came upon the idea [heavily inspired by Reddit] of Random Acts of Pizza brought to you by FTC.
How it works:
1. We donate to a Pizza Fund.
2. We select recipients that love pizza [I’m thinking Children’s Hospitals, Firefighter Stations, Shelters etc.].
3. Convert FTC to BTC and use pizza.be or takeaway.com [UK] to pay with BTC.
4. Make some kids/people happy.
So, since FTC started in the UK. Maybe Ruthie or Chris can suggest a children’s hospital they’re aware of. It’d be great to call ahead and inquire about a: If it’s cool, b: How many kids there are, and c: Dietary restrictions. Additionally, we can reach out to pizza.be with our intended goal and see if they’d like to get involved [donate coupons - refer restaurants that might be interested in participating on a regular basis] and more importantly, let them know that Feathercoin is actively interested in using their services.
Depending on the funds, we can make this a regular thing. I’d also be happy to reach out to some of our pool partners to see if they’d be willing to offer a mining % donation to the fund.
I thought I’d run this by you guys here and get input.
Thoughts?

I like this lots :)
How do we get started?

I like this idea, I’ll look into some charites / childrens hospital / youth places etc :)

Hey,
Yeah, maybe we can start out by picking 3 targets - next step would be to get in touch with pizza.be’s people and see if they can help us out with connecting to a reputable place. Then get in touch with the three targets, one by one, to see if they give us the go ahead. First one to say yes gets first spot in line.
I can draft emails if need be.
Once we get word - or not - from pizza.be, we can start the funding process.
Ruthie, I googled John Radcliffe Children’s Hospital in Oxford. I’d say this should be our no. 1 pick since FTC is Oxford based.

Awesome sauce.
It’d be nice to get some feedback from our other users. How do you guys feel about this?

I think it’s a kewl idea.
I’m caught up in my own projects but I think it sounds worthwhile…
