I have removed BTC from all my addresses. FTC, DOGE, CAT, WDC is what I’m trading.I will still do escrow for people in BTC etc. But no way, sorry, no room for royalty.
I guess Gavin’s reading comprehension was the last straw, huh?
I normally don’t listen to “what about using it fer science!” comments, because the hidden message is: scientists have a job and already have money and you didn’t spend $300K on an education so you don’t deserve money. The higher purpose argument for “rewarding” BOINC SETI, protein help is bullshit. I agree with helping out. I don’t agree with treating participants as a second class. But Bitcoin is a tool and the idea that new communities should be on their knees because bitcoin came first is ridiculous.
Incidentally, another thing that grinds my walnuts about the “rewarding” of points; the hidden message is: the economy is just fine, there is no racism in prison policy, there are no unjust wars, there is no criminalization of activism. If I participate in protein research, even if it’s a screensaver that uses my GPU, I expect the funds that will allow me to contribute to other things I care about.
I reject any Eloi and Morlocks division.
I support any altcoin that goes from inception to selling cars in less than a week. That’s legit in my book.
I’m still reeling that it got listed on an exchange within a few days. Usually people who build a coin and shoot the request out there get told “we’ll see if you’re still floating in a month”. -
That’s because spoon. There is no spoon. There is no reason to delay. There is no reason to wait and see. The value is in exchange fees.
It doesn’t matter if it’s real. Amazon didn’t make a profit for years, but it served a purpose that eventually the rest of the world caught up to.Wait, Kevlar, is this how retrocausality really works? I mean maybe it’s not retrocausality at all but rather a forward reference, a kind of prepared die for future molten metal to be poured into, like FLUX.
Heh. Rearden Metal maybe.Did you guys know that people out there are consulting other people on their buying decisions and their basis for attacking FTC is:
1. The pull out of UNOCS (lol wut)
2. How many subscribers a Feathercoin has to it’s related subredditsAnd they’re listening to these people. I know you’re saying that there’s no reason to wait, which makes sense so that power is taken out of the hands of a board or individual and returned to the collective, but is the act of transference concrete enough to justify weaving the baskets for everyone else to throw eggs into?
The key to consulting is authority. The key to authority is knowing what the heck you’re talking about, and being able to express it well.
The next best thing is speaking like an authority. If you can’t dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit. If it sounds convincing, people will buy it. In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.
The fact that this is effective only goes to demonstrate just how uninformed the average Joe Plumber is. We’re facing an education hurdle, not a technological one. Address that, and you’ll open everyone’s eyes, and dethrone the half-blind king.

Given the fact that litecoin and bitcoin have become such circlejerks, i’m dropping BTC just like i did LTC.FTC, DOGE, CAT, and maybe WDC are looking to be my dream team.
So longer bunker fiends.
We create here.
I have to disagree on catcoin. I think kittehcoin will come out the winner in that race. Catcoin are still trying to recover from a disastrous launch while kittehcoin seems to be much further down the road.
Catcoin is out of the woods. It’s stable now.
My problem with Catcoin is that it’s rewards are not what I expected. A miner with a 2MH/s rig can earn approx 33CAT or approx 50FTC per day. Why would anyone choose less CAT over more FTC (which already has value)? You’d have to believe that CAT will one day be worth more than FTC to make that decision. I’m not sure it will. And I thought Catcoin was kinda meant to compete with Dogecoin. One of the reasons doge is so popular is because of the rewards people are receiving from mining it. Even now with a relatively small rig a miner can get a few thousand a day. I don’t see the logic behind the decision to limit Catcoin to 21 million coins, and I can’t see why anyone would mine CAT instead of FTC at that reward level.
1. 1000 CAT = 1 BTC.
2. Kittehcoin competes with Dogecoin
3. CAT is meant to be scrypt copy of BTC so 21 million
4. Value depends on security + communityLong term speculation and 2 years to maturity of coin are things of the past. The technology is proven. The issue now is that people want to not have others controlling the possibilities.
Both the bitcoin and litecoin communities became circlejerks for the developers and developers care more about making deals with corporations and angel investors instead of people.
Catcoin is Bitcoin in scrypt. It has the dynamics of Bitcoin which means I can pretty much forget about Bitcoin.

I’ve been having a poke at catcoin over the last 12 to 18 hours… I’ve only picked up about 3 cat.
From pool teamcatcoin.com
Overview CAT/USD: 22.15000000 / Pool Workers: 46
Even though I can mine a lot more ftc, cat seems more profitable right now.
Do we think because it is far more scarce that it fetches a higher price?
By making cat a clone of btc but having it as scrypt, does that that not essentially remove 95% of the competition from all those SHA asic mining rigs?

OK, so Catcoin isn’t really a Dogecoin competitor? It was its USP before and during launch.

Currently it’s not on any exchanges I don’t think.
They have a google docs spreadsheet to trade I think.
I’ll pointing everything I have back to ftc. It’s my default option for mining. It’s just sometimes if I see a new coin pop up that might be different from the rest, I can’t but help see how well I can mine em… Especially considering I’ve got my first rig built. It took a lot of physical and mental effort to get this rig up so I’m just having fun.
To be honest, cause I run the air conditioner to keep the apartment cool, I’m always making a loss so it’s not about money to me… If i wanted to make fiat, I would day trade…
