It attracts the most wonderful people who together know well how to get the best from one another. When so many in this space are looking for power and quick money we have seen tremendous loyalty and hard work. What is wealth without the good intentions of the people who posses the virtue to know what to do with it?
Surrounding yourself with the those who can help you achieve your goals is one of the most important decisions you can make in life. I am proud to have spent my time with all of you, thank-you for letting me help.
Now without further ado let’s venture in to the final newsletter of 2013…

Songs of Love
If giving were easy it wouldn’t be worth very much. As Jason King from Sean’s Outpost observered: ‘for the first time in history we have the technology to enable one person to help another anywhere in the world’.I was inspired by John Beltzer last week who reached out to us on Facebook eager to tell us about his non-profit called Songs of Love. John and his team write songs for sick children, taking time to learn about their lives and weaving their personal stories and memories in to the lyrics. Checkout this report on 60minutes.

The latest release of 0.8.5 saw the widest participation from the community so far and we’d like to say a big thank-you to all those who participated. Our strength comes from our diversity and one of the ways we differentiate ourselves from other coins is in the way we organise ourselves. Even Kevlar was impressed!

It is often said that money goes where it is treated best. @Netnerd is working hard on his cold storage physical Feathercoins with one of the ideas to incorporate Near Field Communication so that the coins could actually be spent like the ones issued by your government.

Look, shiny!The coins look great in any light and I can’t wait to get these out there. Our badges have already proved popular with me bumping in to people wearing them at London meet-ups every so often. Next I want to see people spending these in shops and bars everywhere.

He is a treasure trove of productivity planning two more Kickstart projects: Enhancements for Link, and a Twitter Tip Bot. We have spoken before about the universality of maths but nothing brings the spirit of the world together quite like music. I hope you spotted this week’s theme because music is one of the few art forms that we can’t use to hurt one another and one that is never finished in its excessive generosity.

By the way John from Songs of Love has raised 151 FTC from this post. I would love to go back to him next week and tell him we were the coin that raised him enough money to write a song for a child (which is $250).
If you liked his charity and were thinking of doing it please don’t put it off as the sooner you put something in the more positive feedback that will create and others will do the same.
