Question: i’m updating to the Feathercoin-QT v0.8.5 , but at the first post on this thread it says to “Delete the old Feathercoin directory” first (for Mac version). I didn’t do that since I didn’t/don’t know what the “Feathercoin directory” is. I’ve downloaded the new version and it is currently in the process of “reindexing blocks on disc.” Need I be concerned that I didn’t “delete the old feathercoin directory” before I downloaded the new version? (yes i had a previous version.)
Please advise.
-
Delete the Feathercoin directory means delete the old folder that Feathercoin came in. You may have deleted the folder already and moved the Feathercoin-Qt app elsewhere like the application folder. Please delete the old Feathercoin-Qt so that you do not run it by mistake.
-
Thanks Bushstar.
I’ve deleted both the previous version of Feather-QT and the previous .zip for the previous version of Feather-QT, after I downloaded the new version (I did open the old one and got an error message, and then trashed the old version). — Is that all I needed to delete? -
That’s it. You can technically have the old version on the computer as well as the new one but best to remove the old one.
When I hover on the check mark (when all blocks are downloaded), I no longer get the difficulty reported.
-
Hi Kevlar, I thought the difficulty only shows when syncing?. I have to go to Debug console to get that consistently.
I agree, I looked at the GUI in Qt. There could easily be a switch, that runs other information or a a markay of Statistics.
Personally, I think we should do the Help, Urgently, you will never known the pain you’re going to feel (in support), if we don’t.
It looks like we will have to patch ourselves from now on, so we use Github to include and test the patches. I would like to learn about the patches, even if we ACK them in to 0.9

Hi!
On the the VO.8.50 version my old transaction come up. is this ok, or do I not downloaded ok?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.Enjoy the rest of your weekend my friends!
-
Hey S&H, did you mean your transactions did not come up?
Is the balance okay?
Thanks :)
-
yes they did come up.
With regards to my balance I didn’t trust myself to keep it there, so I transferred it to the btc-e wallet before I trashed the old one Feathercoin Qt. -
All is good S&H :D
You’re going to be really upset when BTC-e goes down, get’s hacked, or takes the money and runs. It happens ALL THE TIME. I’ve personally lost 12 BTC to website hacks.
Don’t say you weren’t warned. The best way to keep crypto-coins is with a paper wallet.
