Mining for change.
-
I want to start a mining pool, but I’m not that tech savvy so I’m suggesting this here so we can come together and make this happen.
I want this to happen because there are so many pools, and it seems like it doesn’t really matter which one you join. I want to be in a pool that makes sense.
Short version:
I want to join a pool where my fees are going towards something good.
Longer version:
*Question would be how much and what is “something good”?
Ideally people will join the pool and donate 10% of their rewards. Of course this would be up to each individual, as it’s donation based, some can afford 50%, some 2%.
The collected rewards would then go into a fund. From this fund, (let’s just say 30% a month) goes towards the Feathercoin Team for further development of Feathercoin, marketing, educating (people need to be educated about cryptos and their benefits), websites etc. This secures the development as everything around it develops as well, something practical today may become the opposite in the future. So it’s always important to see room for improvement. Thats what we want, something that gets better and better.
Now the rest (70%) would be a savings fund that goes to charitable causes. At the end of the year, XX amount is used towards this. ( I’ll let somebody else do the math, we want this fund to grow while the same time spreading the wealth. I guess this depends on the rate of blocks found, how many miners etc)
*Why charitable causes are important:
A quarter of all humans live without electricity â€" approximately 1.6 billion people! As if the divide isn’t big enough from before, cryptos becoming the main source of payment will only elevate the problem. (Think Hunger Games, Capitol vs The Districts).
*What charity to support?
We’ll start our own! Yay!
When FTC surpasses BTC in value, this fund could make a huge impact!
The charity would work towards bringing electricity to people who don’t have it. Also with the rate of tech advancement these days, the prices are going down so we could also put a phone in the hands of so many people.
We’re lucky to live in an age where we have all the knowledge known to man compiled throughout history at our fingertips!
Imagine what that would do for somebody that doesn’t have easy access to schools, books etc. Cryptos are irrelevant, it’s about the bigger picture. Also giving support to innovating research and renewable energy as Feathercoin is a innovative “product” would be a good idea as well. If all the rigs were run on clean energy, it becomes a sustainable architecture.
*Everybody gains.
If this pool were to become the biggest, it supports a nice ecosystem that people will want to use.
What I mean is:
When somebody decides to use Feathercoins, they know that they’re contributing to something good without costing them anything.
