How to make scrypt currency popular
-
The explosion of Bitcoin was due in part to Mt. Gox. When the ability to buy BTC was matched with fiat people took notice, it was easier to buy and invest in. Then came ASICS. Many people feared what asics would do to the Bitcoin economy and they were right in some part, but I think what they really did and are doing now is helping to build a proper infrastructure to house all the hashing power required to process transactions.
If we want any scrypt currency to succeed we need to have an easy way to invest in them. Fiat to feathercoin like coinbase or mtgox, or get them added. I know people are working on this.
Then and this is the most important step, once there is an easy way to buy feathercoins there needs to be a way to scale feathercoin production. BTC is hugely popular because asic technology is scalable and easy to house in a data center. What we need to do now design/produce a scalable scrypt coin method. Once that’s in place scrypt coins will have a chance to flourish.
edit: and we need people to accept them as currency also. :) FTC forums is doing a fine job with that I think.

This sounds like a solid strategy. Were you happy with the announcement about Bittylicious and BIPS.me in the Weekly News?
We are also talking to two other exchange companies and there is work going on to help merchants.
I was very happy to see it. It’s following in the footsteps of the hugely popular bitcoin market.
