I got rid of this rule:
Only users who registered on this forum before this post was made are eligible for the free FTC.I guess this giveaway is especially useful for new FTC users, so I’ll just give it a try. If I discover abuse I’ll just put it back in place.

I’d be interested to know how this kind of giveaway incentivises someone. Eg giving them a coin on an exchange might result in a lot of sell orders since the only thing they can do is withdraw for fees or sell for slightly lower fees. So unless you have the buy support from the start it could create price distortion.
Would love to know as it seems like a cool way to distribute the trading.

Price is slightly higher there than on btc-e, so it doesn’t start a massive sell of, I guess 1 coin doesn’t really create a massive price change anyway.
From what I see now:
12 people registered
1 person started to effectively trade on the exchange, can be buying, selling or bothWhat the other 11 did, I don’t know, maybe they hold the coin on the exchange or sent it to their wallet.
But it is a great way to advertise, I started using the exchange because someone on bitcointalk gave away 0.1xpm. I took a look at the exchange and the first impression was good. While I was there I could just as good register and get that 0.1xpm. When you register you see again a little bit more of the exchange and you already have an account after the registration process. Which makes the step to actually using it again a little bit smaller.
Of course most people will just sign up for the free coin, I think this will be around 90%, but those at least used part of the exchange and know it exists and maybe come back later. For example between registration and actually using it, I had a timegap of ±3 months. I got the xpm out, which all went smoothly and I came back 3 months later to actually use it.But I think it also depends on the community where you do this and at which point in time, people here already have an incentive to distribute the trading and start to use other exchanges. So a small incentive like this one could be that last small pull to get them over, I talked about it with Iceman who has the bitcointalk thread running, and looks like this one could become more successful than his in getting active members. But we’ll see, for me the outcome is also a guess, and I could be totally wrong in how much this incentivises someone. Probably too early to tell anyway, guess not many people are daily buying coins and if they want to buy it with fiat it will take some time anyway.

Think that one person was me. Its a really good exchange would be great to see more volume but if your clever you could trade here and on other exchanges and make money.
-
In the meantime it are 2 people that are trading. :D
And yeah, you can earn some money with arbitrage. :P -

Hey, I wanna cash in some money into Crypto-Trade. But there are only crappy options to throw some money in… :// I live in Germany and would like to pay via SEPA or Paypal :d Can anyone help me? :)
-
SEPA would be a nice option, Paypal deposits will never happen for obvious reasons.
The easiest way for you at this moment seems to be okpay, than you can pay with Sofort or SEPA. First time it takes some time though because you need to verify your account in order to use Sofort, which means sending them a scan of your ID, proof of address and verify your phone and mail.

[/quote]good idea +99 ;-)
Another suggestion (which i think only works for the UK) is to allow funding via
Ukcash vouchers. i think there are two varieties… Ukcash … and Ukcash 18+.
Ukcash 18+ is completely annonymous.
These are available for anyone to buy from off-licences and newsagents all over the uk.
The voucher has a code, and anyone with the code and immediately redeem it for cash.
This would be convenient way for punters to get money into an exchange…
The exchange simply needs to agree to be a Ukcash agent.Perhaps you could offer to sell FTC via the feathercoin website using these vouchers.
Interested punters would then have an easy way to load their wallets with FTC without
having to learn about exchanges or providing I.D. etc.Better still… would be… if you could create a feathercoin website located in China and
accept whatever yuan based vouchers they’ve got going over there. You only have to
look at the BTC price to see that china has a lot of enthusiasm for crypto currencies.
Now would be an excellent time to introduce our chinese brethren to FTC.Just a thought ;-)
