Cryptocurrencies gaining more legitimacy
-
I know cryptocurrencies are mainly for buying things on the internet but I think one of thr things that keeps people from using them is that you can’t buy groceries or buy gas with them. You might be able to pay rent with cryptocurrencies if you have a cool landlord but how do you think we could start encouraging more businesses to accept cryptcurencies and hopefully start paying for groceries and gas with them instead of FRN’s?

I think that the first step is to make the process of getting coins easier for normal people on the street. (Great news recently about Bittylicious.com soon to trade FTC)
then step two would be like you said try to show the benefits to the retailer to increase adoption. If each retailer has the same issue as the company I work for which is that each payment by card etc. has a high transaction fee (9p per transaction) and we can show by accepting FTC etc we can cut that dramatically or even remove it entirely then that retailer can either reduce prices and be more competitive with other business of the same type or reap the increased profits. Win win.
And as we know that is only one benefit of FTC among many. (Cannot be devalued by QE / Central controller like general currencies etc)
