FTC currency sign - Voting Requested

Fehu aside, though I’m probably wrong on its connection… the symbol has to be an existing unicode character. Simply so that users can type it without relying on finding a font file to produce it. It would be nice to design our own one,
-
There is also “Latin capital letter f with hook” in the Unicode table.
Æ’
Although there are various glyphs of this letter.
-
Here we have “latin capital letter f with dot above”.
Ḟ

at first I liked “â‚£”. But it’s in the Franco logo so I would avoid that. I would avoid any currency sign for a currency in usage (like the ฿ of Bitcoin that is the thai Baht currency sign of thailand)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Currency_signtheir is a lot of stylish F a like in the unicode that should be good to go
http://unicode-search.net/unicode-namesearch.pl?term=F
my favorite was U+1D571 but it can’t print in forum correctly without lots of work so a no go
we also have the feather one
U+169B áš› e1 9a 9b OGHAM FEATHER MARK
U+169C ᚜ e1 9a 9c OGHAM REVERSED FEATHER MARK
U+2F7B â½» e2 bd bb KANGXI RADICAL FEATHER -
From the list that groll posted that would actually show up correctly on my computer, I like the Fraktur symbol U+1D509
A non-letter symbol as he suggested would also be unique and interesting.
-
yep but put it in your message and the message end :( so need unicode wrapping to use it not very convenient

In comparison to Bitcoin and Litecoin: ℱ ฿ Å

Only if the Fraktur F’s were typable :'(

Ò’ imo doesn’t reflect because of his hard straight lines a cosy feather.
-
How abbout an italic f with a c (for coin) on the lower end?

-
Ï•
Phi (“f”). The lower-case letter φ (or often its variant, Ï•) is often used to represent: The golden ratio in mathematics, art, and architecture.
So you have both “f” and math represented.

So besides some wonderful custom made fonts so far we got proposals for various Unicode characters
A copy and paste Unicode character readable in most browsers across the world has my preference
I came across suggestions for
Æ’ Ò’ ℱ Æ’ â‚£ Ḟ and Ï•I suppose the feather symbolizes the coin’s characteristics of being smooth.
In this context I believe
ƒand ℱ
are best choices.
To my feeling the first further symbolizes FTC being easy, light and fast.
Since were talking about a new crypto currency it’s a matter of taste to go for retro or art nouveau, so arguably a better choice is
Æ’ or Ò’ -
I have to admit that Ò’ is very easy to write and remember although my symbol is very nice for printing on coin like smoothie is making for LTC.
-
To symbolize the fact that feathercoin transactions are very fast perhaps the proposed Ò’ could be written in italic:
Ò’
