Tech Cocktail Article

I’m glad you guys enjoyed it so much, thanks for making my first foray into digital currencies a pleasurable one. We get roughly 27k followers on Twitter at Tech Cocktail and our site traffic is huge so the more you comment the more recognized it gets. Also the more traffic to the actual article (which I have submitted to StumbleUpon as well) will put me in contention for a top 10 of the week which warrants an extra mention in a different article. It’s all about publicity and I’m really pulling for you guys.

Great article for us.

I must say, that was a pretty well written article.
Only thing I disagree with in his writing was about ASICs being bad. Which isn’t necessarily true because they use SHA 256.

Good read!
n00b question: Is scrypt-based mining immune from ASIC’s? Or have they just not been developed yet?(due to higher costs?/lower rewards?) -

Hey Will! Just wanted to let you know I read and commented on your article, I enjoyed it and glad you were very open-minded and accepting of Feathercoin. I’m even happier you’ve decided to stay even after your walk through our community :)
Not it is not.
But there is good news. Because it isn’t to the point of profitability there is some time (i predict 2-3 years) before an ASIC for scrypt is implemented. So because that is my prediction i expect it to happen sooner…18-24 months.
I must admit that this part (presuming it is the same part :) ) made me read twice/three times, in the end I read the whole paragraph in context and took it that ASICS was bad for GPU mining, which I agree with. Amazing how the written language can cause confusion by peoples perception of it. < I’m not saying my perception is correct BTW. 8)
