Getting Feathercoin into the Hands of people with Credit Cards
As you know, one of our toughest challenges is getting Feathercoin into the hands of people that don’t already have BTC. Here’s the issue:
1. User listens to a podcast of us talking about Feathercoin
2. They visit they website to purchase coins - No go
3. They visit the forum to purchase coins - No go
4. Someone on the forum explains 2 main options:A. Install the Feathercoin client
B. Install the Bitcoin client
C. Go to Bitinstant.com -> Fill out information with ZipZap
D. Take the printout to Walmart/CVS to fill out a MoneyGram sheet
E. Pay MoneyGram and expect BTC in your wallet in an hour or two
F. Move BTC to BTC-E, exchange for Feathercoin
G. Withdraw Feathercoin into your wallet you created on Step AOr
Use Coinbase which isn’t much better. You now have to register your bank account and if they are out of BTC for the day, you can make a purchase and get the equivalent amount of BTC on the day they quote.
Possible Solutions
1. On the auction site, we encourage users to offer pre-paid credit cards for FTC (must be able to email account information, escrow service)
2. On the market site, we offer prepaid credit cards for FTC (must be able to email account information, escrow service)
3. ** We work with MoneyPak to avoid any charge backshttps://www.moneypak.com/AboutMoneyPak.aspx#
This topic is strictly dedicated to JoeUser finding out about Feathercoin and wanting to purchase a few to get started. Thoughts?

Markus1337 liked the US options. Here’s his thoughts on UK:
Accepting 3V gift cards. What they are is basically a debit card which is a gift card therefore you can use it to make transactions in form of a bank transfer. Apart from that I will accept direct bank transfer to minimize the costs of buying the coins. I am happy to do the above, I will see about other currencies as I’m sure the bank can exchange it for GBP. In UK not many people use gift cards even though there are a few to choose from. I can offer the above service exchanging direct bank transfer to FTC going buy some conversion that I will look into. What do you think?

The obstacle is to find a solution to get money in that is quick, cheap and cannot be reversed.
The best thing I can thing of it PayPal or Google Checkout for fast payment but they are reversible. Find a good service and I would use it to facilitate trade. Or even better approach Koolio about offering something like this. He has enough Litecoin behind him to play bank. He has opened an escrow service that I would like to tie the auction site to.
I would offer to accept bank transfers but my bank will close my account if they find out what it is for. My bank is the same one that Gox used to have in the UK. It got closed! Old money is not friendly to new money.
There are a lot of gift cards turning up all over the place now, personally I do not like gift cards. People keep getting me iTunes gift cards for some reason. If they gave me the money I can use it anywhere I like including buying myself a gift card if that was what I wanted to do. They do not make any sense to me. You’d only get someone a gift card if you thought they may also be an addict, and even then they would just walk up and down the queue in the shop trying to sell it.
Do not take any discouragement from this. It is just the opinion of one Brit :)
1. Koolio
** ACTION ITEM **Do you plan to have a meeting with him soon. If we have a better understanding of the full scope of his services, it’ll help planning go so much smoother.
2. Paypal
The reason so many Paypal for Bitcoin sites closed was because of the reverse transaction schemes. This is a direction I’d want to avoid like the plague.
3. Gift Cards
I’m not interested in Gift Cards at all. If i want to eat at Apple Bees, I’ll get my own card.

4. Pre-Paid Debit CardsThis still sounds like a great idea, it’s why there are quite a few of these setup for Bitcoin. It’s basically same as cash…
1. User gets an online visa/mastercard number for purchases
2. User gets a physical card in the mailI’ll probably buy a few of these for the Auction site to test out the theory.

5 Local Bitcoin ExchangeWe need to get these people interested in doing the same for Feathercoin.

I have already spoken to Koolio who seems happy to have us despite his lack of love towards FTC on the trollbox. I will speak to him further when the auction site is more complete as he is still in the process setting up his service.
I forgot about local Bitcoins. This is a service that we could try to replicate.
