Feathercoin 3D printed Keyring tag now on Thingaverse
-
I’m finally happy with my model of the Feathercoin logo which I plan to use to make pewter keyrings.
I’ve uploaded it to thingaverse for anyone else that has a 3D printer and would just like to print their own.
It is 30.2mm in diameter
You can find it here on Thingaverse.

Tmuir12 I love your ideal, but am curious to why you don’t sale these? I would buy one if I had the chance and use it as a keychain because if someone seen it and asked a question about it you could explain what it is and possibly bring others into the world of cryptocurrency. I like the blue color, if green was available that would be awesome too. Any information would be grateful for those of us that don’t have a 3D printer.

I would love to buy one too if possible especially if it could be in the colour pink.

They will come up for sale soon. Rather than selling plastic printed ones I want to sell pewter casts of this.
Just need to wait until payday to be able to buy the high temperature RTV silicon to make the moulds, Christmas was an expensive time.
The print above is in PLA as that gives the best quality print and at the moment I only have PLA in blue, all my other colours are ABS.
Happy to sell printed ones if you prefer but I think in pewter will be far better and longer lasting.
I made the STL file available for those that have printers and want to help print it themselves as even if I don’t make anything off them printing it Feathercoin has benifitted as now they have something on their keyring people may ask them about which helps promote the coin.
I’m part of the Feathercoin team as I can see the future potential of this coin and Cryptocurrency as a whole and though making some short term cash is always nice I’m happy to volunteer my time and effort to help promote it for the long term goals.

Can’t wait for the pewter ones I’m definitely buying one. And I would hope you would take at least a small profit for yourself (or else I will have to tip) for the amazing work you have done with this. :)

My main goal is to cover my costs, but a few extra dollars would be nice. I think the biggest cost on buying one will be the postage and padded envelope, on top of that I’m hoping I only need to add $3 to $5 for the cost of the pewter and the materials to make the mould.
I get the pewter cheap (usually below scrap value) by buying dented modern pewter mugs from charity shops and melting them down, that usually works out costing me only 20% of what it would cost if I ordered in the pewter.
I’ll keep you all updated with my progress. I may also make much smaller versions from Silver Precious Metal clay which will produce me one made out of 99.99% fine silver, but silver PMC is expensive so they will not be so cheap. Unfortunately I do not have the facilities to do lost wax casting which would make it much cheaper to do them in silver, but would cost me about $2500 to $3000 to set up

blue 3D FTC , very good .

Did you printed something interesting since that time?
-
Not Feathercoin related, but I’ve printed a walking Biped robot if that counts as interesting. :)
Haven’t found the time to finish the coding though.
I’ve also made a couple of parts for my 1976 Chicago Coin EM pinball machine too

This guy printed this in black filament ;)
