Slipping ..

It’s pretty consistently low though, ok so it’s sloping the wrong way, but it in the grand scheme of things is pretty stable.

maybe Apple will by Featheroin and use it for it’s istore. :-*

Is it $0.08 a coin yet?
No?
Is it under 200 difficulty?
Yes?
Then the time is not yet for worrying.

While it is disappointing how many people are pulling out of the cheap coins (i.e. Feathercoin/Worldcoin) keep in mind that those who stay will profit in the long run. You shouldn’t view cryptos as a short term investment.
I do see it as a long-term investment, I am just concerned that it is showing worrying signs of not having a long-term future … Someone please convince me otherwise. I see warning signs BUT no positives at the moment

Depends on what you classify success for a coin.
If the FTC founders, who’ve probably got quite a lot of coin each, just need FTC to reach a few dollars so they can dump and retire, then that’s all that’s going to happen.
However, if this is going to be a leading crypto currency, I think it needs the following:
A strong marketing led image.
A reason to hold FTC over the other currencies.
A good technical backbone.
A well thought out and clearly defined roadmap to action the aforementioned points.Im not saying there’s only room for 1 currency, however the winner of the Crypto war, the one that rises above all other currencies, is the one that markets itself the best.
-
And keeps going. We are moving forward all the time and evolving the coin its image the infrastructure etc etc. So we are not treading water here. What we want is sustained long term growth not a quick fix pump or boom as every pump has its dump and every boom has its bust.
Don’t rush things. Stay the course we’re in this thing together. Think long and hard about what you personally can do to help the coin the community the image succeed.
-
In all honesty, with an active community and an easy to mine, inexpensive coin you’d think innovation would happen here since the overhead to try new things (as in services) is very low.
Ha. I couldn’t disagree with you more. I see absolutely nothing in terms of moving forward and evolving anything to do with the coin. When compared to other cryptos such as Doge, FTC does basically nothing in this community except for speculate on future price.

As I type this we have dropped to 17th on coinmarketcap below Novacoin, with a price of 13p per FTC. This is very worrying I am afraid, you can gloss over it as much as you like but the facts are right there.
Someone mentioned sustained long-term growth but in the last two months since the price spike it has been pretty steady and sustained contraction. I just hope we do not see anything bad happen that could push this further because I’m not sure what will happen if it goes down too far.
-
As as I see it, you can tuck and run. Or you can see that it’s still an established coin that at the very least is a good starter coin. If all of your CC is in FTC, then clearly it’d be ideal to diversify. It’s also not absurdly a fraction of a USD cent like Doge and is limited. One can’t speculate as to price or long term value, but it’s a solid payment infrastructure and that counts for something. I’m also not really sure what freaking out about it on the forum is supposed to do to help the value.
Your best bet is to move on for now and come back if things start moving forward. As much as people defend FTC, there is really nothing that it falls back on. There are extremely high amounts for sale at various exchanges with little to no buy orders to compliment. They can speak as much as they want about where it will be for their “long term growth” but from what you can clearly see as of late, there is nothing to look forward to anytime soon. The fact of the matter is that FTC is slowly falling off at the moment and there is little to no interest in it from any angle, except this “community”.

Where is FTC cheapest?
-
I see these price drops as a feathercoin community sieve, a much needed one from what I have been reading and well worth it.

I don’t want that blood my hands ({looks at avatar} …feet?). There’s not some magic formula that’s going to make you feel better about any decision you make at the end of the day.
-
I’ll be bluntly honest. The marketplace decides what wins or fails. There’s not a lot going on volume wise with feathercoin which is both good and bad. People are holding, but not buying. There’s minimal transactions.
Feather is on a springboard right now, but it’s not ready to make the jump. The innovations going on within the community I feel are ahead of their time. If you want this token to get more useful find a niche market for it. The feathercoin marketplace is a good start and I use it to sell FTC merchandise. T-shirts, mugs, branded mouse pads, whatever gets in peoples faces. This coin is designed to be an every day currency and the ftc-marketplace should reflect those values. As ChrisJ would put it, can I buy a loaf of bread? Maybe. Get on board with supermarkets and maybe find a way to issue store vouchers/credits for some FTC and list them in the marketplace. That way they don’t have to invest in the technology en masse, one wallet can handle the requests. I think if anything should be added is a way to go straight to BTC (I would say fiat but that’s problematic), and from there you can link into coinbase and the UK equiv to fund the vouchers with fiat.
Just a thought.
-
Well I guess they can with Buttylicious now in the UK. There’s no good US fiat exchange for FTC at the moment, and if we never get a good one I’d be fine with that. I’d be fine with FTC taking over all of the EU and never touching us here in the states. Not being mean, just saying if it never reaches the US in such fashion but penetrates the UK it will have succeeded.
-
People that have FTC want to get rid off it and no one is buying. On this forum people involved have their one interest at stake and will of course not give you an objective view.
I too think FTC have a future, but one also has to realize the situation at some point. Hold maybe around 10-15 % FTC and buy up when the tide turns.

The feathercoin marketplace is a good start
The feathercoin marketplace is a horrible start. It’s basically a place where people are selling useless or old junk (with the odd exception) that nobody wants to buy. I find it hilarious how people keep saying that we need to start using feathercoin as an actual currency and the only place they can point to is that marketplace, which is basically an online garage sale.
