Tying FTC/BTC vs FTC/LTC
-
I tried to look in the archives but I could not find anything on the subject.
LTC is pretty much mainstream right now (or just around the corner) and if FTC was to be tied to it the numbers on exchanges would look nicer.
- Wouldn’t be more natural to promote FTC/LTC pair?
- Does FTC Team has any influence over the fact that exchanges use FTC/BTC pair?

So far we have had zero influence on BTCe exchange though we do talk to Travis at CoinMkt.
All of these coins are going mainstream, it’s the idea itself that is important. The idea of a distributed timestamp, a ledger that everyone controls. The next big step up is going to be distributed p2p exchanges and multi coin wallets. This for me was never about one coin to rule them all, which is just more of the same centralised banking we have had for centuries. It’s the idea that’s centralised, not the implementation and the more viable coins there are out there the harder it will be for governments and corporations to stop it.

Pointing out p2p exchanges was something I’ve never thought about before. Thx. Can you point out some valuable source for more info about it?
Although I do agree that we want all (maybe not like 100% all) alt currencies to succeed it is really difficult to expose each coin features and values that make it different from the bunch. I do not want to argue my point too much because considering FTC is that young and has reached that big popularity you guys know what you’re doing. However, I do look at those currencies as currencies that are competing. Allowing public to feel better about the coin they “like” (whatever that means) through better exchange rate “numbers” might give a little edge that not necessary causes harm to the whole concept.
