Does anyone bought something with FTC ?
-
something like a recently sold items tab / section. I like that idea.
-
I bought Windows OS with FTC (during first epoch of FTC market).

Hi,
This is not for me (In my opinion 8500FTC for a PS4 it is a little bit expensive).
My point was only that we should do more marketing and promote cool deals (TV, phone, video games, …) done using feathercoin. So the future adopter can think “With this currency I can buy stuff I need” -
I have setup https://twitter.com/FeatherMarket on Twitter to help publicise special deals on the market place. One of the features of a deflationary currency is that merchants discount their prices to reflect future price perception. This provides incentives to holders of the currency to spend it.
So using our marketing to leverage this service for merchants willing to work with us could be a fruitful endeavour, what do you think?
Yep, that’s $950+ for a $500 dollar item.

Chrisj,
I like that you trying to define a strategy for the marketing. FTC needs a strategy, a vision of what we want to do. Then actions must be defined to meet that goal.
I think the twitter account could help to show what deal people can do we feathercoin but we have to go further.
Maybe we could be more attractive by doing contest with merchant. Something like: Buy with feahercoin at this merchant and at the end of the month someone win a price or will be reimburse for all what he bought.
I think initiative like that could leverage the currency. What do you think ?

I bought midwaycy6’s mirrors edge and am looking to purchase more games.
That’s a great idea. We could definitely do something like that. How should the prize be funded? I think initially it could come from community but eventually we want it to be merchants, no?
-
I think it should to be founded by the merchant and the community. Maybe fifty because it will increase its sells so he could invest a little bit in the contest.
However, community could found the first one and use the experience as a case in order to promote the currency to merchant.
Another “contest” de could be for buying at least for per example 200 ftc, the community reimburse 100ftc to the first 100 buyers. American express did that a month ago to promote its cards as a way to pay in Tim Horton coffee shop. -
I love it. Let’s get on it right away. What merchant doesn’t like sales?
-
They all do :)
I am not working in marketing but maybe someone in the community that know this subject could help us with it.
According to me, we should target a merchant selling stuff not too expensive and that could interest a lot of people.
In the previous message, I saw that they bought videogames so it could be a good start. I know there are coingas.com and crypto4games.com that accepts FTC.After that we need to determine an objective the contest, agree a deal with the merchant (it has to be a win-win experience) and then market the contest: determine the prize, promote it in forums and everywhere, do the contest, then have feedback and post mortem that we could use to promote the currency and enhance the experience for the next time.
Does it make sense for you ?

I have the same tots. People will adopt feathercoin if they can buy goods cheaper or same price than with fiat. I was running a web shop with computer gadgets, but everyone was making more money than I do (bank, post, tax agency,…) so I closed down. With cryptos things are different.
I am sawing some money for stock to start selling on feathercoin market. But have to figer it up what will people hear buy . -
Chrisj,
I saw this post on the forum: http://forum.feathercoin.com/index.php/topic,4224.0.html
I think this could be promoted on the twitter account with a picture and a short sentence from sheepson? Also I found a PS4 on the market: https://market.feathercoin.com/item.php?id=182
If it is sold, we could contact the seller or the buyer so he can write something ?What do you think ?
