I think, that besides having a super store, of is important to have a service automating the payment process and converting FTE to fiat for the merchants.I’ve seen, that bitpay.com provides this for bitcoin
yes this is another key service that needs to be in the pipeline

I like this one. I want to do some brainstorming around this idea so that we can start selling paper wallets like pre loaded debit cards but need to talk to a dev on the redeeming process.
- Feathercoin banknote and/or Physical FTC collector coins.

Not to rain on anyone’s parade, but if you want a better feathercoin user experience, there’s only one qualifying parameter to consider: Adoption. If there’s more adoption, there will be more demand for a better user experience… not the other way around I’m afraid. That’s WHY Silk Road made Bitcoin relevant: Suddenly there was a reason to own Bitcoins… user experience be damned. With that demand comes the need for better user experiences, and with that need comes the resources to provide it.
How does paper wallets increase Feathercoin adoption? How do physical coins? Cassius bitcoins were around for a long time, and they didn’t really change Bitcoin adoption at all.
Now… Gambling websites? That’s a good start. You know what else people like? Sex. Drugs. Rock and roll.
Rock and roll… music… now there’s an interesting topic. What if you created a music download site that accepted Feathercoins? I bet you already know why that wouldn’t work: iTunes. The market is already cornered.
Here’s the moral of the story: You really don’t need to innovate in this space, you just need to find an under-served market segment, and serve them better than the current offering does. Do this, and Feathercoins will become relevant, or don’t, and all of these efforts are just pie in the sky. With relevancy, there will be no shortage of people making things like paper wallets, faucets, collector coins, payment processors, and places to earn/spend/gamble.
So… what need do you and everyone else you know have that’s presently under-served or poorly addressed?

I shall say it again! Dread Pirate Kevlar!!! FTC only, low fee’s, sorted!
I don’t wanna start a drugs are bad mmmm’kay debate but imo the only better alternative for safer drug use is government regulation and selling. -
If their was no paper wallet generator i wouldn’t like that and would value FTC a gr8 deal less…
FTC needs to make sure it has all its key infrastructure working well, and then add fun and games!A FTC version of BitPay would bring on more people.
A FTC cloud hashing mine would be cool too ;) -
I tend to agree with you there, Tony, and so do the statistics on the war on drugs. http://www.drugpolicy.org/new-solutions-drug-policy/forty-years-failure
If you can’t fight it, regulate it, and tax the living hell out of it! SUCH a better solution! Instead of costing money, it could be making money, and the average quality would improve due to oversight.
-
Exactly!! users are going to use, so why not regulate it and produce it in a real lab so its safer, people read in the papers about X kid who died after taking XTC at a party, What they fail to mention is that it was adulterated with so much PMMA that it was actually that which killled them not what they thought they were taking.
The war on drugs is lost, and they just took out the best source for safe drugs.
I’d love to quote some Shulgin here but I’ll refrain :)
Again big respect Kevlar you definitely are clued up on alot of things! -
As someone who has done a bit of UX design I am grateful for a keen insight there. I think you’re right. Though I would like to kick around some ideas I have for a paper wallet as a way of driving adoption but it needs to be verbal and with someone with enough technical knowledge that they could keep the ideas focussed on what’s feasible.

A mobile wallet for FTC alla Mycelium/Bitcoinspinner would be great. The current Android wallet sucks the life out of your mobile connection and is erratic in updating.
Mobile payments are the future. Exactly the right fit for a coin without the weight.

The adoption of FTC will be long and hard way.
Someone must have a really good reason to exchange FIAT to FTC an then spend FTC.
I think paper wallets like pre loaded debit cards are good idea, but they are useless if you cant spend them good.
A sport betting and poker site will be good, but it is big and expensive project (and can be dangerous because we don’t live in free world).I think a few FTC only webshops and strong market.feathercoin.com will be a good kick off .But competitive prices and good service is a must.
p.s. sorry for bad grammar. English is not my native language.
