Dwolla

Has anyone here had experience with Dwolla? They ask for SSN which makes me extremely nervous. Curious what services people use?

I’ve used Dwolla. Didn’t have any issues. A good alternative to Paypal.

I haven’t had a problem either, in fact I like them more than Paypal. But yes, as wesphily said I don’t know how it’s going to work now with fed’s all up in their business

My worry is that the feds are now involved. What are they going to do with those SSN#'s?
the feds already have your SSN. To run a legal service like that, dwolla is required to get them.

I have never used Dwolla.
To move USD around in this environment (FinCEN), there’s certainly some privacy challenges. Staying purely crypto is one thing… the minute you starting playing in USD, it starts getting messy.

I love Dwolla’s fee system. Also, to avoid giving out personal info try LocalBitcoins, but in person trading has it’s own issues.
-
I’ve used Dwolla many times to buy bitcoins with bitinstant. That’s really the only thing I use them for…
As far as being legit, or the SS# issue, yeah it’s because they are like PayPal. They are a legit US-based company who seems to be following the laws.
