Not really , it couldbe a problem to read the Neoscrypt hashed blocks, but I would expect it to be more like 17 Days behind as this would match the Neoscrypt fork date.

Did you a reset on the blockchain after the upgrade?

If not you wallet synced with some clients still on 0.8.6.x until that date, which should be the last date you run the Android wallet.

Then after the updrade, connnections to 0.8.6 cients are not possible anymore, and if there is a problem with the Neoscrypt algorithm in the Wallet, the sync will hang.
