What do we call the smallest fraction of a Feathercoin that can be sent?
-
I had posted on Bitcointalk about how I see the name ‘Feathercoin’ as being a barrier to its mainstream adoption. I know Bushstar would disagree, of course, as its like your child and you think its the right name.
When the value of FTC rises, instead of transacting in milli-FTCs we can call it something else. Seems to me a good opprtunity for branding, the seeds of which can be sown now.
FYI, I like the name Feathercoin. Just thinking from a common man on street perspective who will see it as a transaction means, like say PayPal.

Quiver is the one that grabbed my attention.

Quiver is catchy, but it doesn’t make a lot of sense as a fraction of a FTC. I would expect that to be the name of the wallet (or something similar).
-
And what about Featherbit?
I hear you, it depends on the market. If these name is supposed to make the crypto nerds agree (I say that with love), you’re absolutely right. If we’re looking for Joe Sixpack to remember the name, something catchy is more important.

You need catchy but not overly geeky.
i go for a snip or barb. It’s short simple for people and it has direct relation.
say it to yourself…
how many barbs do you have? I have 15 barbs.
how many snips do you have? I have 15 snips. -
I like “fringe”

Quiver will be used elsewhere for Feathercoin. :) Any other ideas… keep em coming!

I personally like the featherbit name the best. It’s the one that “sticks”
I actually like “sticks” the best… it goes with the feather nest feel.

A “wisp”
Even smaller than the stick is the wisp. :)

You might as well call it “fluff” for that matter :P
For some reason “wisp” makes me think of “wasp” and I do not like wasps…
Fluff will be a great term if we market it to the adult industry… oops, I said too much. :)

How about MiniFeather, MicroFeather?
