os = windows 7
browser = ie10Everytime I place a bid I get an error. Also, the first time I placed my bid I typed my password in wrong. It told me I typed the wrong password in. Rather than reject my bid it accepted it. I knew it accepted it because the price went up.
The last part kind of worries me about security.
Does this same error occur and how can I recreate it?
Do you have an error text that you can paste here?
@UKMark: Can you email me to code for your donation button page to . I will put it on the site and structure it in the same was as the site and give you FTP access to it. I would to see what other buttons can be added to this for merchants to use.
Yes, but is there much point adding this yet? Or much point making it available to users yet? Tbh I can add so much more to this (and I want too), I could add every button available to it, I would like to perfect the .js further too, to urlencode and error check user input further, but I have shelved this for the time being to concentrate on actually getting a protocol in place (or for you too :) ), be it BIP0021 or whatever you feel we should use…I have big ideas of adding further to whatever the chosen protocol also, we could add a merchant reference, even an address field < for delivery/invoice purposes < this could be added on-the-fly at point of sale, I really believe this could be a >one click< crypto feature eventually, but I realise we are a long way from that as of know.
But yeah I will email what stands as of now to you later on and then if you put it in an accessible location I can work on it as and when! 8)
I was thinking that you could work on it directly on this site but not open it up yet. It will form part of a set of tools that we will bundle together. We could do more with the icons if we had BIP0021, I’m sure that is what you are thinking.

1. Feedback resetIf I type up feedback about a seller and mistype my password, I lose my entire text. If I spent a few minutes writing something, I’d be fairly upset.
2. Styling
I’m sure this is being done in the background - It certainly needs an artist’s touch. The big yellow bars made a tear fall from my eye. :)
1. Once you login to the site you will not need to enter the password again to create an auction or publish feedback. Do you need to enter a password for these events on ebay?
2. I have now gone for a lighter yellow. It seems better to me but feel free to suggest a colour :)
-
@Bushstar when you log into eBay or Amazon you don’t need to log in again unless you are changing some card details or address maybe? Not too sure exactly ;)
-
4. Forgetting username/pwIf you forget your password, you’re required to enter both the username and the email address. What if someone doesn’t remember their userid? Will we have another recovery method? Manual maybe?
I have changed this to just an email address. This seems in line with most other sites.

5. Hot Items - Clickable Graphic
Done.
Also, not sure if you fixed it or not but, I was not able to place a bid without being logged in. When logged in it did not ask me to login again to place bid. It appears the major bug is fixed?
You only login once now and no longer have to enter in your password for feedback, bidding or creating auctions.

6. ColorsThis is just a personal preference:
A. On the main page, I’d replace the blue (categories, settings on the right, home/sell item on top) with bold black. The color looks washed-out to me… I feel it needs to pop.
B. Not a fan of the bright yellow with that color scheme. For example, the outbid yellow (to me) looks far too loud. The yellow around password (edit your settings) looks out of place color wise.
C. Buynow 2,000,000.00 FTC 1,000,000.00 FTC -> I’d make the buy now larger – there’s something about that red and blue I’m not a fan of… I can’t place it
A. I think doing that would take away what little affordance they have.
B. Agreed. I have replacing this where ever I see that yellow :)
C. Agreed. We need a new Buy Now button.
New BuyNow button anyone?

Your bid was not enough to make you the highest bidder!
Would you like to bid again? This is the error I get when I try to place the minimum bet. The price goes up but it still gives me this error every time.
Someone else has a higher bid than you on that item. You have pushed the price up that someone else has to pay.

@Bush / John
Will there be a fee for listing products on the site in the final release? These could go towards some sort of bounties ::)

I’m sure iawgoM could create something if they are not. 8)
Not currently as there is no internal payment processing so everything is free. Implementing FTC wallets in WeBid is going to take time. I will have to reassess priorities after the market place is launched and stable.
No doubt the auction house is going to require moderation too.
@UKMark - I have contacted iawgoM about that image.

@UKMark - I have contacted iawgoM about that image.
What do you need off it? it is in transparent .png I can just cut you button out of it.
Like so:
Obviously if you want ‘buy now’ then iawgoM is needed :)
-
iawgoM has got back to me and will supply the BuyNow button soon.
There are a few forms on the site that need tidying but I feel the styling is now mostly complete.
If you have any feedback to give on the auction site now is the time to voice them. If I have missed your previous feedback then please post it again.
I intend to launch this tomorrow.
-
I have registered, it looks much better to me slightly calmer on the eyes too :), the site seems a little slow though - like it’s thinking about everything? Or are we under slight ddos?
Oh and btw I don’t want those 1000 locust ;D
-
I’m still requesting a soft launch with some new faces to beta this weekend, hard launch on Monday. Give me the right opportunities for PR… with the $1000 contest launching on Monday, I can make this an even bigger deal.
-
1. Also, I’d distinguish between the beta test data and the actual live site on the main auction page.
2. Do we eventually plan to do a single sign-on? I worry about a bunch of bogus account, however, I feel better about it being referenced against the forum username. If I see one from UKMark… and I know it’s really him, I know to run. ;)
3. We might consider a nominal posting fee of like 2 FTC. This would cut down on the possibility of spam.
-
Nah you will be OK, I ain’t shipping to the US anyway ;D
If I have as much success as my eBay persona I will be extremely happy :)http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=*narkymark*&ftab=FeedbackAsSeller

Update: Not a bug, just a ‘Dutch Auction’
Recommendation: Remove – Could be very confusing (UKMark and I agree)

Update: Not a bug – Please remove this ‘dutch auction’ type… very confusing for the auction newbs
1. https://auction.feathercoin.com/item.php?id=12
2. View before.jpg attachment
3. I’m bidding 1800 (minimum is 1650 FTC)
4. View Confirm_Bid.jpg attachment
5. I click confirm for 1800 (notice it now increments it to 1850 FTC min)
6. View After.jpg attachment
7. It tells me I didn’t bid enough and increments the minimum 50 ftc over what I bid

Wesphily bug confirmed. I saw him do it right in front of me, looking to see if I can replicate it every time.
It’s not a bug ;)
It’s an auction, User A) has bid say 10,000,000 for an item with a start price of 1 it does not mean they pay 10,000,000 for it, if the bid increments are 25 then the current highest bid is now 26 (the maximum bid is still 10,000,000) now the next User B) comes along and places a bid of 1000 they beat the current highest bid of 26 but not the maximum bid of 10,000,000 - you will get the message that bid was not enough and the price will go up to 1025! Comprehend?
